Pollepel Island, commonly called Bannerman’s Island has been shrouded in mystery and adventure since the construction of Bannerman’s Castle in 1901. Begin your adventure kayaking south under Storm King Mountain before crossing the Hudson River toward the base of Breakneck Ridge on the Eastern bank. You’ll then paddle North to Pollepel Island. Although we do not go on shore, your kayak guide will share the fascinating history of the castle as we paddle around the island viewing the ruins from the unique water-level perspective.
