Pollepel Island, commonly called Bannerman’s Island has been shrouded in mystery and adventure since the construction of Bannerman’s Castle in 1901. Begin your adventure kayaking south under Storm King Mountain before crossing the Hudson River to the base of Breakneck Ridge on the Eastern bank. On a secluded rocky beach, we take a break to enjoy the scenery, shade, or even a refreshing dip in the river. Once back in the kayaks, we make our way North. Although we do not go on shore, your kayak guide will share the fascinating history of the castle as we paddle around the island viewing the ruins from the unique water-level perspective.
We provide kayak, paddle and lifejacket as well as instruction before you hit the water.
